Narrative

The lifeboat was tasked to assist in the search for a missing high-risk person in the Cockenzie area.

The crew searched Cockenzie and Port Seton harbours before beginning a shoreline search westwards. Whilst searching around the former Cockenzie Power Station, a member of the public shouted to the lifeboat that they had found the missing person on the landward side of the sea wall.

The lifeboat alerted shore-based teams and helicopter Rescue 199 who illuminated the area. The casualty was packaged in a stretcher and taken to an ambulance.
